Stuffed onions, a tasty and very healthy single dish

Ingredients for 4 people

4 onions
100 grams of mixed minced meat
1 egg
3 tablespoons of oil
crumbs of a medium-sized bread
2 / 3 tablespoons of milk
parsley, salt to taste, garlic
grated parmesan cheese
breadcrumbs

Use onions that are not too large, the important thing is that they are white and tender.
Remove the outer skin, cut them in half, hollow them out to form a hole where you can put the minced meat.
Separately, prepare the meat mixture.
Use the mixed meat (beef + pork) which is more flavorful.
Separately, put the breadcrumbs in a bowl (depending on how big the onions are and how much filling you need), you don’t need a lot, just soak it with milk. You don’t need to soak it, the important thing is that it is soft and malleable. The crumb treated in this way is used to keep any meat filling soft (this idea can also be used for meatballs, stuffed peppers).
In another bowl add the part of the onion that you made earlier to create the hole, add the previously chopped parsley, garlic ( if you like) and breadcrumbs. You need the whole egg ( even two, it always depends on the amount of dough you’re going to work) to keep the dough “together”. Add salt and pepper if you like.
Grate the parmesan cheese and add it to the bowl, along with the previously “treated” breadcrumbs.
Knead all the mixture thus prepared so that it blends well together.
Fill the onions with the mixture, place the onions in a baking pan in which you have poured the two tablespoons of oil.
Place in the oven at 180/200 degrees for about 20 minutes, (30 minutes).
The stuffed onions are ready.
Serve and enjoy!
